Fortified fortresses

Prejmer Fortified Church: dates back to the XV-XVI century and its construction is related to the rule of the Teutonic knights on the territory of Ţara Bârsei. It is considered to be the strongest peasant fortress in Transylvania and was built in the Early Gothic style, having a cross shape and an octagonal tower, the vaults are ogival, and the lateral chapels are disposed on the polygonal apse.

Harman Fortified Church: it was documented in 1240, the Romanic church still holds the circular apse, but also the original windows, still bearing the traces of the mural paintings, that you will identify on the outside walls.

The influence of the Gothic architecture of the times determined the appearance of the polygonal windows and the rectangular chapels.
